The much deserved giggles

He has not been the easiest of babies. And I'm sure he isn't anywhere near the "hardest" either. But this little Tommy of ours has given us a run for our money. But now? As long as you listen to him when he gives you his brief (but obvious) clues that he wants something- he is such a freak'n happy baby. He will give you a hard belly laugh- just by looking at him w/ a funny face. When he sits and plays- he will just look up and giggle or hold his head up really high and just smile.

Like I said- the trick is that once he gives you any hint that he needs something- you need to ACT! And act NOW! He usually only gives it to you once and then expects results :)

Timmy in LegoLand!

My friend Julie got Timmy & I free tickets to go w/ her to Legoland. Her company provided the tickets and the place was open just for her company from 8-10am. It was so great to go there when there are no crowds! It was also great not to be the major "cha-ching" that they want for a ticket.
Our nephew Mikey (and Tim's sister Christine) love Legoland- and after being there I can see why. I think it was more for kids a little older than Timmy but he had a good time. There were some things that scared him (like the lego alligatort that snarles at you or the dragon that "roars" at you). But we got to see a Bob the Builder 4D movie, go on a "roller coaster" and see all sorts of great things made out of legos. There was even a life-size lego version of President Obama!
He keeps asking if we are going back- so I guess we had a good time :)

The Boy's Pictures

Attached is Timmy's 3 year picture (eek! 3 already??) and Tommy's 6 month. We went to two different places and the place we got Timmy's done didn't have them available on the web so we only have a scanned copy of the one pose we bought.

Timmy is changing over to the public schools for his speech therapy. He had his first one yesterday- how weird was it walking into the Elementary school and watch him walk into a class room. It was only for a 1/2 hour. Maybe I should be glad that this whole sending him off to school thing is being done in "baby steps" Next will be 1/2 day preschool a few times a week and then kindergarten. What is really getting me is how he is totally repeating everything we say- word for word. The other day I was having a hard time burping Tommy. After nearly 1/2 hr the burb still wasn't out so I started bouncing him a little on my leg. Last night, Timmy walked into the living room w/ a burp cloth on Tugs (his animal) and started burping him and bouncing him. Then he started saying "Com'on Tugs, this shouldn't take all day, give me a burp- give me a burp- give me a burp" (a little chant I was saying as I was bouncing & burping Tommy). And then he said "Com'on, I don't have all day" (yep, now I remember saying that). And then he ended with... "Good burp Tugs... good job!" It freaked me out how it was a word for word replay fomr days earlier. Major mental note was made!!

Tommy was a total ham getting his picture taken. He was just full of smiles- and boy... did he really work the room while we were waiting to view the pics. Smiled, cooed and laugh at all the appropriate times at all the ladies flirting with him. The kid was in his element. If I were to tell them what a difficult time we've had with him during his infancy- I doubt anyone would believe us. As you can see by his pics- he knew how to work the crowd & the camera.

Thomas Karl's 6 mo check up

He's a big boy alright!

Weight: 21 lbs 2 oz (75th percentile)
Height: 28 1/2 inches (95th percentile)

The percentiles are the same as Timmy's- I guess it's just the way we grow 'em around here. :)

The day of Timmy's bday party (4/4) Tommy's first tooth popped out. And another one is starting to make it's way. He is rolling from his front to his back and vice versa. Doesn't crawl but can move a few feet by kicking his legs while on his back. He is sitting up better and better each day. And he loves taking turns with you blowing "raspberries"

I LOST MY CAMERA!

We just got back from a terrific family vaca at Brown County State Park (Indiana). We stayed 3 nights at the park's lodge that had a small water park in it. We had a blast! Timmy and Tommy both loved the water (Timmy started becoming a little fearless which made mom & dad nervous!).

We took family hikes, had some picnic lunches in really great places and stopped in Bloomington, IN on our way home (what a great town and BEAUTIFUL campus!!).

I would love to show you pictures as well as videos... but I lost my camera. I'm hoping it will turn up but there really isn't any where else to look.

I'm so addicted to my camera and love taking pictures- it's almost as if we weren't even there without having the pictures!!! (my bday is coming up- I may have to get a camera if I can't find mine by then!)

Timmy turns 3!!

I can't believe it... our little boy is three years old already. We ended up throwing him a big party (19 kids big) which has left me with more gray hair than I had a week ago :) It was crazy but we are really glad we did it for him. He loved it! Here's a video of him blowing out his candle- he was so excited everyone sang him the birthday song.

We had his 3 year appointment yesterday. He weighed 38.3 lbs (75th percentile) and was 38.75 inches (95th percentile). We seem to grow them tall around here!

Mikey (Timmy's cousin) loaned his Geo Trax to Timmy so the collection has about doubled. Tim built quite the spread- which is kind of funny because both Tim & I will spend 30 min putting elaborate tracks together when Timmy would be just as happy w/ a circle :) But thanks to Mikey- now we can all three play trains at one time (w/ the three remote trains we have) Thank you Mikey!! Tim &I got him a Thomas bike- the first "spin" was taken in the basement due to the snowstorm - how sad is that for April!!?

The day of Timmy's party- Tommy (finally) popped his first tooth!! Another one is about to bust out anyday. Both are on the bottom (middle).

We have cancelled our camping trip to FL this year. A rare thing for a Reising to do but it was best. Tommy is a bit hard o handle and doesn't seem to stick to any kind of schedule. Why drive 20 hours south and camp when things are that crazy. The bummer part- we made sure we had our reservations 10 months ago so we got the BEST spot right on the water! Hopefully next year!
