Playdate at Elizabeth's house!

I've had the opprotunity to meet many wonderful and friendly mom's with our Mom's Meetup group that we joined (about a year ago). One mom I'm getting to know in particular is Elizabeth, who hosted a playdate today. She checked the weather yesterday and noticed it wasn't supposed to rain until late afternoon so she opened her playdate up to anyone in the group who wanted to come (there are 30 mom's the in the group and playdates are usually limited to the first 10 to rsvp). Well... over 15 moms were expected to come and unfortunately- it was raining by 9:30am!! So we had to move it indoors to Elizabeth's basement. You can see it was a full house- but as always- lots and lots of fun.

Bobby spend the day w/Timmy

Our friend Mike asked me to watch his 13 month old, Bobby (mentioned in previous post) during the word day. Wow... two kids can be exhausting! Bobby is such a sweet boy and played well with Timmy. He LOVED to taunt and tease the cat- which is the only thing I had to keep an eye on. Timmy on the other hand didn't like it when I payed attention to Bobby. If Bobby was crying- Timmy would pretend to cry. I also didn't realize that Timmy knew the word "MINE" so well! It glimpse into my near future... I think I will have my hands full. But it was a total joy to have Bobby spend the day with us!!

Visit from Uncle Eric

Uncle Eric (my brother) and his girlfriend Tina spent the night on the 23rd. They were in town helping Tina's pastor's daughter move back to college in Naperville. It was wonderful to have them here... Timmy loves it when people visit him (he is in his element at home and in such a good mood vs. traveling and being tired).

Eric's bday was the 19th so we had a bday cake for him... which made Timmy all the more excited!

Timmy's new room

As a kid- I remember mom & dad remodeling our bathroom (in the Van Buren St house) after dad went to the store to get an $8 part. One small thing resulted in a new room. Well- we kind of (sort of) had the same thing happen. We needed to keep an eye out for a new dresser. With Tommy coming in just 7 weeks (ish)- we only have one- three drawer dresser. I've become a big fan of Craiglist and had been watching for something good. Well... I found a dresser. It also came with a big bunk bed set :)

We wanted to get "the boys" a bunk bed eventually but weren't really looking to get it right now. However, we couldn't pass up this deal. The set came w/ 6 drawer dresser, bunk bed that included book shelves (on the inside bottom) and a desk (on the outside). It also has a total of nine drawers (between the set on the outside and by the desk). It also came with two twin mattresses (one being brand new- the other used for about a year). AND... it was delievered to our house by the owner. For the low price of $260.

Tim spent pretty much all day Saturday varnishing everything (it's solid oak). Once that was done- it looked brand new.

Timmy LOVES his new bedroom. So we are going to try the big boy bed again.

Milwaukee Zoo w/ the Haas's

What a fun day we had!! Timmy & I headed up to Milwaukee to meet Mike, Leslie, Jordan & Colby Haas at the Milwaukee zoo. (Mike's nephew was also there). This is the second year that we met there- it's such a fun way for "the boys" to hang out. On the way up to Milwaukee- I told Timmy (while driving thru Kenosha) that we were going to see Colby and Jordan at the zoo. For the following hour- all I heard was "Colby, Jordan, Colby Jordan, Colby, Jordan" (with the occassional "animals!" thrown in). He was soooo excited to see them. Although the beginning of the day was a bit chilly (and even gave a little mist during lunch)- the weather eventually became sunny and warm (but not hot thank goodness!).

I'm attaching a video of Timmy riding the ponies (w/ Jordan, Colby & Kevin). He LOVED it. He also loved the petting zoo- with all the goats! Oh- and of course the train ride :)

Another trip to Great America!!

Back in late April, Timmy & I joined Tim as he took his Physic classes to Great America. During that trip- we received 2 complimentary tickets- which we took advantage of yesterday. To say that Timmy had a blast would be a total and complete understatement! We got to the park at 10:30am and din't leave until 7:20pm... he didn't cry or fuss one time the entire day (even though he didn't nap at all!!). He went on several big boy rides with daddy- some of which are hard to believe that a 2 year old went on and enjoyed- but he did. The crazier and faster the ride- the more he loved it. When getting of the rides- Timmy would start clapping and just have a huge smile on his face. He also did some kiddie rides (really loved the boats again- just like in April).

Click on this link to see our Kodak photo album. Some of the rides were too fast for me to get a good picture- just look for Tim's white hat (he is wearing sleeveless navy blue shirt). http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=7z4gsrl2.ao08532i&x=0&y=do2lai&localeid=en_US

Another Playdate!

It was a fun day with another fun playdate. The weather was hot and Cindy (who hosted the playdate) had lots of water activites which kept the kids cool. They even had a big inflatable water slide with Timmy loved!! (until he bounced down it a little too much then decided he was done). Good times!

A visit from Bobby & going to the farm

What a fun day! Our friend Mike stopped by with his little boy, Bobby- it was so good to see them both! Timmy really liked having Bobby over. It was a short visit but being that we don't get to see Bobby that often (last I saw him was his baptism almost a year ago)- we'll take what he can get. He looks just like Mike!
After Mike & Bobby left, we headed to Michigan City to hit the outlet mall and then cookout. All three of us got great deals on shoes (they have a Stride Rite outlet there... great shoes for Timmy for 1/2 cost than at the mall! And I got a pair of maryjane crocs for $10 at the Croc outlet!! Tim got new hightops at Nike to help support his healing ankle).
After the mall- we went to Bailey's Homestead- part of the Indiana Dunes National Park. It's on an old swedish farm and they still have chickens, horses and pigs there. Timmy LOVED being so close to the animals!!
