It's March 3. I have no idea what in the world happened to Feb. We have been spending pretty much every spare moment either fixing something in the new house or cleaning up the old house. It's exhausting but worth every ounce of sweat (and yes a few tears). We love the new house. We love the space, we love every room. Even though the walls are still mostly bare, no curtains up and boxes everywhere... we love this house and feel so blessed to be here.
Many of my days start off with a trip to the "old house" to do what I can with two kids in tow. Often times Tommy is sleeping. And Timmy gets to watch his Thomas videos. At first it worked... the only time Timmy got his Thomas fix was at the old house. But all good things come to an end. Eventually Timmy found the paint (he has his own official "painting clothes now"). And all sorts of other "no-no's" Can you blame him? When you attempt to trap an (almost) 3 year old and there are repercussions.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel. As I type this our friend Julie & her fiance Bill are over at the old house w/ Tim cleaning and doing the final touches. I'll attempt to shampoo the carpets tomorrow and we show the house to four different people (who are potential tenants) on Thur/Fri. We didn't make our March 1st deadline but we did our best and are pretty close.
It's been mentally exhausting on Timmy- going back & forth between the old & new house. He loves the new house but you can tell he loves the old house too. We are all looking forward to the day when we can take a deep breath and then focus on the new house. Our "real house." Our home. Home is where the heart is... and where your pillow is located.
